Development company La Zagaleta Group is prepared to invest 240 million euros into Vaderrama Golf course and club, creating a fusion between to of Spain's prestigious giants. The Valderrama golf project is one of the biggest of its kind, catering for one of the world's most exclusive and luxurious residential developments. In Zagaleta near Marbella next door neighbours might include actor Hugh Grant or Moscow's mayor - a villa here typically boasts 4,500 square metres of grounds with a built-up area of around 3,100 square feet. This leafy green and hilly parcel of land and residential development is located only a short drive out of central Marbella, overlooking the town's skyline and golden beaches. Zagaleta residential development is reputedly home to President Putin of Russia, not to mention some of the world's most successful fund managers and bankers.
Valderrama 2 Project
Located in the Castellar municipality, the new project covers 200 hectares of lush rolling hillside and represents thus a strong reminder that the Costa del Market is gradually improving - helped by the popularity of Marbella as a buyer destination.

It will be the most prestigious and luxurious golf course project of its kind.
Nicknamed "Valderrama 2.", as the project has been named, will also boast a luxury hotel and potentially several residential homes of the same quality as those already build in La Zagaleta itself.
Local estate agent Ben Bateman, who works for Holmes Sotogrande, said the deal was a "very interesting fusion of two famous brands". "The quality of Zagaleta is integral here, and given the new ownership of Sotogrande itself, it's very exciting news for the whole area," he added, explaining that he'd known about the deal for some time and that his estate agency had already shown interested parties around the existing golf course.
It will take about a decade before Valderrama 2 Project is completed. Meanwhile, La Zagaleta Group has confirmed its cooperation with the Real Club Valderrama to preserve and enhance the exclusivity of the brand name, which took many years to build up as a landmark in the European golf world.
