Los Monteros Playa, Marbella, is a low density residential area in the east of Marbella, an affluent neighbourhood featuring mainly 2 and 3 bedroom luxury apartments and private villas with landscaped gardens and swimming pools. Los Monteros Playa is only 4km distance from Marbella town centre, making it a perfect location for both those looking for either a holiday or permanent home by the beach that is close to all amenities and attractions.
Here the predominantly gated apartment block communities are small, typically containing no more than 60 luxury apartments each. Sea views, lush vegetation lining the coast and great local amenities make this a sought after area for families. It’s a much quieter part of Marbella than Puerto Banus for example.
It’s a small sub-tropical paradise with white sandy beaches that slope gently down towards the sea. Penthouses with small rooftop swimming pools or plunge pools are available throughout Marbella, from luxury pads costing EUR 5m to budget penthouses starting at EUR 500k.
A typical luxury apartment or penthouse with high ceilings, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and a floor space of ca. 250 sqm will cost around EUR 1,750,000 in this part of Marbella and will boast luxury finishes that other penthouses or apartments, even if they are being advertised as “luxury”, will lack. From the top-of-the-range kitchen appliances and bathroom fittings to marble fire places and sun terraces that are least 55 sqm in size, the area’s properties have all one could wish for in a high class neighbourhood.
Construction and design qualify for Los Monteros Playa beach side apartments, villas and penthouses is generally very high, even for resale or second hand properties built a few years ago. Most new apartments and penthouses will feature not one but two large garages as well as a storage room, will offer residents underfloor heating and air conditioning throughout the property and will boast easy to keep clean marble flooring, Jacuzzis and shower rooms, electric shutters, alarm systems and in-built safe boxes for valuables.
There are plenty of things to do at the weekend or in the evening: Los Monteros Playa has its own tennis club and three golf courses with the luxurious Los Monteros Hotel and La Cabane Beach Club offering fine dining, entertainments and a great place to make new friends or meet up with existing ones. And, of course, there’s the fantastic beach right on the door step.
Penthouses and apartments are typically located in securely fenced, gated communities, with 24 hour security on site, which is why this area is so popular with affluent holiday home owners and those living at the Costa del Sol semi-permanently.
The typical luxury villa in this part of Marbella will cost around EUR 8m and will usually have 6 or 7 bedrooms, floor or living space of around 1,200 sqm and will sit in a plot of private, landscaped gardens spanning around 2,700 to 3,000 sqm. Naturally, there will be a private garage with space for up to 3 cars, a cinema and games room, a fitness area or gym plus steam room, a guest apartment and underfloor heating, air conditioning throughout as well as alarm systems with 24 hour security and CCTV. A laundry room comes also as part of the package.
Marble flooring, several fire places and satellite TV as well as top-of-the-range kitchen appliances such as Gaggenau, Bosch and Miele in the fully fitted kitchen are also standard issue.
Also located in the east of Marbella, Carib Playa is not quite so exclusive but has good quality properties to offer. Here a 4 bed villa by the beach costs around EUR 1,350,000 and will feature a private pool, landscaped private gardens and a garage for at least 2 cars. Plot sizes are smaller here, typically around 880 sqm for properties with around 500 sqm floor or living space. Finishes are not as luxurious as in Los Monteros though. A resale penthouse with 3 to 4 bedrooms can usually be found for around EUR 275,000 to EUR 240,000.
Carib Playa is close to the popular neighbourhood of Elviria and is located within a 10 minutes’ drive of Marbella town centre.
